Governor Of Kirkuk Severely Criticizes Iraqi Army

The governor of Kirkuk, Najim Eldin Kareem severely criticized the Iraqi army, saying it lacks a strategy to defend the country’s interests.
The governor of Kirkuk told the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA / The state of Baiji refinery – the largest oil refinery in Iraq, which it is equipped from Kirkuk oilfields – and defending it reveals a lack of strategy of Iraqi military in putting suitable plans for stabilizing the situation in the country.
He criticized the performance of the Iraqi army, saying it has not resolved Fallujah and Ramadi battles for years, stressing that the army is suffering a real crisis of its preparations, figures, arming and training.
Against this criticism, Kareem praised the Peshmerga forces and the popular defense forces, saying (these two forces are the real forces, which are fighting the organization Daash in Iraq amid evaporation and the collapse of the Iraqi army since June 2014), adding (these two forces able to defeat Daash in Iraq), demanding the United States, which he recently visited with the President of Kurdistan, Massoud Barzani, to supply the Peshmerga forces with heavy weapons and train its members to increase their combat abilities. / End
