Ibrahim Al-Sabawi, the nephew of former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein, was killed during the Iraqi army and popular forces' fierce clashes with ISIL in Salahuddin province.
Al-Sabawi, who was a leading figure of the dissolved Iraqi Ba'ath Party, was killed in Baiji to the North of the city of Tikrit, the Iraqi interior ministry announced on Wednesday.
Al-Sabawi was the prime suspect of Spiker crime in Tikrit in June 2014 during which over 1,700 students of the Air Force College in Tikrit's Spiker base were killed.
On Sunday, June 15, 2014, the terrorist group, known as ISIL, killed 1700 students of the Air Force College in Spiker base in Tikrit, Iraq. The victims were young men under the age of 20.
The ISIL Takfiri terrorists currently control shrinking swathes of Syria and Iraq. They have threatened all communities, including Shiites, Sunnis, Kurds, Christians, Ezadi Kurds and others, as they continue their atrocities in Iraq.
Senior Iraqi officials have blamed Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and some Persian Gulf Arab states for the growing terrorism in their country.
The ISIL has links with Saudi intelligence and is believed to be indirectly supported by the Israeli regime.
