Sterling Expand HSE Training
6/25/15
Sterling, the international Health, Safety and Environment oil and gas and construction specialists, have expanded their HSE training site in Erbil.
Sterling focus on HSE consulting, building capacity to mitigate risks and environmental hazards, as well as preventing and*dealing with major incidents in construction and the energy sector. The expanded centre will introduce a range of new courses, listed by Sterling as the following:
Fire Team Member & Leader, Working at Height and Rescue, Confined Space Entry and Rescue, Lifting & Hoisting, Forklift, Command & Control, Incident Management, H2S and Self Contained Breathing Apparatus.
The centre now has a four story training rig, and according to Sterling, they plan to expand into Sulaymaniyah and Dohuk. Angus Mcneil, managing director of Sterling, heralded the new site as being the best in the KRI, and had this to say about the new facility:
“The hands-on, simulated approach goes well beyond traditional classroom training. It allows oil and gas workers to practice real life scenarios and experience first-hand what it’s like to work on an oil & gas facility.”
