Araji: the central government is committed to its agreement with the Kurdistan oil

BAGHDAD / Center Brief for the Iraqi Media Network (IMN) - Deputy Prime Minister Bahaa al-Araji called on the Kurdistan Regional Government to comply with the oil agreement that has been agreed upon within the current year's budget, stressing that the central government is committed to all its promises to the provincial government.
He said al-Araji's (IMN) "We are working on the negotiations between the two sides to reach development and agreements definitive solutions to get rid of these differences that all these years has continued, especially that the solutions are in accordance with legal and constitutional formulas," noting that "the current differences are technical differences".
He explained that "some political parties are trying to exploit the security situation in the country to create a major crisis between the sons of the same country."
The prime minister's office said Haider al-Abadi said yesterday that the federal government is trying to resolve points of contention between them and the Kurdistan region through dialogue.
The Cabinet decided on the second of the month of December the end of last year to approve the oil agreement between the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government, which states that the Iraqi oil belongs to all Iraqis, and the Kurdistan region to hand over at least 250 thousand barrels of oil a day to the Federal Government for the purpose of export, and also it includes the export of 300 thousand barrels per day by the federal government of the province of Kirkuk fields through the oil pipeline in the Kurdistan region, and allocating a percentage of federal land forces of the Iraqi army allocations to the Peshmerga forces, according to population ratio as part of the Iraqi security system.
