Baghdad/ Iraq TradeLink: Baghdad Investment Commission announced that there are 130 working investment projects in the capital, that provided 30.000 work opportunities.
Chairman of the Commission Shakir al-Zamili disclosed that the investment projects concentrated on housing, industry, trade, health, educational and recreational fields.'
He added that the housing sector got 73 investment permits that will provide more than one million work opportunities.
Granting an investment permit does not mean the start of the project, but the process to approve the designs and studies.
The Iraqi parliament approved the investment law in 2006, but many foreign companies are "reluctant" to participate, fearing the unstable security conditions in the country, despite the amendments made on the law in 2010.
