Iraq participates in the meeting of the White House summit

Undersecretary of State for Legal Affairs and Multilateral Relations Omar al-Barazanji headed the Iraqi delegation to the meeting of the White House Summit to combat violence and extremism, which was held in the Italian capital Rome.
Al-Barzanji reffered, in a speech at the summit, according to a Foreign Ministry statement today, to the challenges facing Iraq in confronting terrorism, praising the role of the security forces and the popular mobilization and the Peshmerga forces in the liberation of large areas which were under the control of terrorist gangs of Daash.
He stressed in his speech, “the need for the stand of the international community beside Iraq in its war against terrorism and provide all forms of support and assistance to it.
The statement said that the summit was opened by a speech through Video, by the US Secretary of State John Kerry in which he emphasized the determination of the United States and its allies to eradicate terrorism. / End
