Foreign Policy: Iraq is not a lost cause

Growing controversy in the US and regional circles on the deepening Iraqi crisis in the light of the rampant corruption and sectarian and ethnic divisions and the control of the organization of the Islamic state over vast areas of the country represented more than in the provinces of Mosul and Anbar .
And some analysts and observers believe that Iraq on the verge of disintegration and division , but the Iraqi ambassador to the United States Lukman Faili believes the opposite is believed that Iraq does not represent a lost cause, and through his article published in Journal of the American Foreign Policy.
He says Ambassador Faili that his country is under fierce attack from state regulation, and the regulation of the fragmentation of Iraq and the region is seeking through his followers the old strategy of "divide and rule" based on what you witnessed in the country of sectarian conflict.
The organization seeks to strip Iraq of its sovereignty, and to the occupation of much of it, and to slaughter or deny any person who is not loyal to the Salafist jihadist organization.
The division of Iraq
and the ambassador pointed to statements belonging to the former commander of the US Army Gen. Raymond Odierno of saying last week that the division may be the only solution for the future of Iraq, because of the difficulty accomplish reconciliation between Sunnis and Shiites.
The ambassador explained that these statements would strengthen the position of ruthless terrorists, calling on US President Barack Obama and the US Congress to continue to emphasize that the United States is committed to the unity of Iraq.
He also called Faili the United States to continue arming local and regional forces by the government in Baghdad , and to insist on the implementation of the goodwill agreement to share oil revenue last year, which took place between the central government and the region of Iraqi Kurdistan .
Said Faili: the unity of Iraq remains the country's best hope to defeat organized around the state to an active , and remains the only way to roll back regulation and the liberation of Iraq and keep on strengthening national and local and regional cohesion.
Peshmerga forces
and the ambassador pointed out that any military support is not through the government in Baghdad, it will lead to division and thus to low morale and the defeat of Iraq. He explained that the forces Peshmerga forces is the courage, but its mandate is limited to the defense of the Kurdistan region of Iraq, and not edit Anbar province west of Baghdad or any other parts of the country.
