Palm-official source said on Sunday that the reports by some social networking sites on the nomination of Judge Saddam Hussein MP for the rule of law for the presidency of Mahmoud Hassan Judicial Council, unfounded. The source said in an interview that "the news circulated by activists in some social networking sites, which talked about the nomination of deputy state law Mahmoud Hassan to head the Judicial Council, are completely untrue." The source, who asked not to be named, said: "There is no nomination of Mahmoud Hassan for this position." Some social networking sites picked up the children that the head of the parliamentary legal committee has been nominated to head the Judicial Council. The prime minister Haider al-Abadi, called on Friday (14 August 2015) the judiciary to carry out a series of "drastic action" to confirm the prestige of the judiciary and its independence, pointing out that the broad reforms called for by requiring fair and firm justice.
