He pointed to “stop many government projects because of the fiscal deficit through which the country at the current stage,” stressing “the need for maintaining the exceptional funds to pay off what Bzmtha of debt for companies and contractors,” pointing to “the collapse of many local companies as a result of the financial crisis.” .
“The debt owed to the companies is estimated at 120 billion dinars size,” explaining that “the Ministry of Finance has not launched only recently 13 billion dinars to finance the projects and the money is not sufficient to pay the dues of contractors”.
He pointed to Nazareth, “the formation of a joint committee of the local government, contractors and owners of companies for the purpose of the follow-up project funding with the federal government measures.”
He called on Congress Dhi Qar province in the House of Representatives to “coordination and cooperation with the administration of the province for the purpose of obtaining an exceptional funding from the Ministry of Finance for the purpose of paying the debt of companies and contractors and to avoid the repercussions of the financial crisis, which took a negative impact on the overall economic situation in the province.”
The Ministry of Planning announced on 18 August of this, its intention to reconsider the six thousand investment project implemented by the ministries of the federal government and local governments, due to the financial circumstances witnessed by the country.
