Agriculture: Iraq needs investments carried out by a specialized international institutions

said Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Dr. Mahdi al-Qaisi that agricultural foreign investment is still below the level of ambition despite the availability of investment opportunities in several governorates.
He Qaisi in a statement »Sabah» that Iraq needs a major agricultural investments carried out by international institutions specialized, indicating that investments are currently carried out by the investors and the companies or small businesses do not meet the actual need.
He explained that the main problem facing the agricultural investment represented the achievement of profit in the term after the end of the growing season for crops, as well as high temperatures and adds costs to the marketing aspect and the old transport routes which are not in line with the development in the agriculture sector in the world.
