BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: The Spokeswoman for al-Iraqiya Coalition, Maysoun al-Damaloujy, has denied its reaching of an agreement with the State of Law Coalition towards the National Council for Strategic Policies (NCSP), confirming that the point of difference between both blocs had been “the mechanism of voting on the NCSP by the Parliament.”
“A meeting had gathered all blocs, including the State of Law Coalition, among whom dialogue took place, with all blocs who agreed with us, with the exception of the State of Law which opposed the mechanism of voting on the NCSP by the Parliament,” she said, denying that the “name of Iyad Allawi had been discussed to become the NCSP’s chairman.”
The Official Spokesman for al-Iraqiya Coalition, Shakir Kattab, had stated to Aswat al-Iraq early in the day that his Coalition had reached an agreement with the State of Law to put an end to the suspended issues between them, adding that the NCSP would be sent to the Parliament for voting on its proposed Chairman, Iyad Allawi.
On his part, the National Coalition Legislature, Ali al-Shilah, denied reaching a new agreement with al-Iraqiya about the NCSP, saying that dialogue was continuing to reach a satisfactory agreement between both sides.
Differences are taking place between al-Iraqiya and the National Coalitions about the Arbil Agreement, including the draft-law on the NCSP.
They included the selection of a chairman for the NCSP and the personality of the man to lead it and his authorities.
