Council of Ministers announced Eid al-Adha holiday for five days starting from Sunday
31/10/2011 | (Voice of Iraq) - Sumerian News / Baghdad identified the Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, Thursday, Eid al-Adha holiday five days starting from Sunday to Thursday. It quoted Iraqi satellite channel, semi-official announcement that the "The Council of Ministers select holiday Eid al-Adha five days, starting from next Sunday through Thursday."
The Eid al-Adha a Eid for Muslims, and the first day of the feast on the tenth of Dhul-Hijja AH, is this feast also the memory of the story of Prophet Ibrahim when he wanted to sacrifice his son Ishmael at the command of his Lord, so many of the Muslims approached to God in this day of sacrificing one of the livestock (sheep, cow or camel) and the distribution on the flesh of the sacrifice and the poor relatives and neighbors, hence the name Eid al-Adha.
