The Minister of Agriculture, Muhammad Karim al-Khafaji, announced, on Monday, the postponement of rental allowances for agricultural lands, while the governor of Diwaniyah, Zuhair al-Shaalan, confirmed that the governorate is qualified to be the agricultural capital of Iraq.
Al-Khafaji said during the inauguration of the first exhibition of agricultural supplies organized by the General Company for Agricultural Supplies in cooperation with the Governorate of Diwaniyah and the Directorate of Agriculture of Diwaniyah, that “the ministry is working to support the agricultural sector and provide agricultural supplies to farmers and farmers while providing the food basket for the Iraqi citizen without relying on the imported product.”
The work of agriculture to provide local products such as table eggs, chicken and red meat.
He added, "Diwaniyah province is the first in agricultural production, and we will work to declare it the agricultural capital of Iraq, as it deserves it because of its agricultural and animal products."
For his part, the Governorate of Diwaniyah, Zuhair al-Shaalan, confirmed in his speech, “The governorate is qualified to be the agricultural capital of Iraq, being the first in agricultural production of crops such as wheat, barley, amber rice, as well as other agricultural crops,
while the General Company for Agricultural Supplies in Diwaniyah is working to provide all the necessary supplies for agriculture.”
