Iraq expands barter trade with Iran

In a meeting with the Iranian Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade, Minister of Commerce Ahmed Al-Jubouri stressed the expansion of trade relations, especially in the field of barter trade.
He added, "We have achieved self-sufficiency in the field of wheat and barley over the past two years, and we can deepen trade relations in these areas," according to the Iranian "IRNA" agency.
He pointed to "the necessity of holding various exhibitions to present products directly and without intermediaries, in cooperation with the Iranian International Exhibitions Company."
Al-Jubouri said that "the trade index between the two countries is high, which constitutes a favorable ground for securing the interests of the two countries," pointing out that Iraq is Iran's second largest trading partner after China.
