Prime Minister's Advisor on Finance Appearance of Mohammed Saleh, Sunday (March 28, 2021), stressed the need to provide a 2021 general budget stability fund.
"The budget stabilization fund should be available as a heated sustainability fund for volatility and landing in the sustainability of revenues, because oil revenues are more than 92% of total public revenues in the budget," Saleh said.
"The price of oil barrel should not be less than $70 to reach a balanced budget without being borrowed to finance the annual deficit in the general budget," he said.
Yesterday, Saleh said that the draft federal budget law for the current year would reduce the poverty rate in Iraq, while delayed yet, meaning 25 percent of the financial vision of the year.
He said in a press statement followed by Baghdad on Thursday that "assumes the general budget to contain programs for the poor, including the improvement of ration card vocabulary in terms of increased quantity and distribution," he said.
"The solution to reduce poverty lies with the approval of the budget, because it contains many programs, including young people, new investments and others," he said.
