Iraq is at the bottom of the list of countries in the index of sustainable competitiveness
Baghdad / Obelisk: Iraq is at the bottom of the list of the sustainable competitiveness index for the year 2020, as it ranked 180 out of 180 surveyed.
Sustainable competitiveness represents the ability to generate and maintain overall wealth without diminishing the future ability to maintain or increase current levels of wealth.
The Global Sustainable Competitiveness Index (GSCI) measures the competitiveness of countries.
The global index is based on five basic pillars of competition that contain 127 indicators. These pillars are:-
1- Natural resource capital: the natural resource environment, including the availability of resources, and the level of depletion of those resources.
2- Social capital: health, security, freedom, equality and satisfaction with life within the country.
3- Resource efficiency: the efficient use of available resources as a measure of operational competitiveness in a world where resources are constrained.
4- Intellectual capital: the ability to generate wealth and jobs through innovation and value-added industries in globalized markets.
5- Governance performance: results of the country's core areas and investments - infrastructure, market and employment structure, providing a framework for sustainable and sustainable wealth generation.
Iraq achieved the lowest rates in the five pillars and the 127 indicators, as Iraq's final rate reached 33.9, making it at the bottom of the list of countries
Sweden ranked first in the index with a rate of 62.1, followed by Denmark with a rate of 61 and Iceland with a rate of 60.7
As for the Arab countries, the United Arab Emirates ranked first among the countries with a global hierarchy of 104 and a rate of 44.5, followed by Saudi Arabia with a global sequencing of 108 and a rate of 44.1, and Tunisia with a rate of 132 globally and a rate of 41.9
As for the last places,
Iraq ranked 180 with a rate of 33.9, and
Yemen ranked 179 with a rate of 34.9 .
Afghanistan ranks 178 with a score of 35
