Today, Thursday, economic expert Nabil Al-Marsoumi spoke about Iraq's ability to export gas.
Al-Marsoumi said in a Facebook post, which was followed by Alsumaria News, that "the currently produced gas = 3000 million standard cubic feet per day (migrated).
Dry gas production = 1317 cubic meters / day
Liquid gas production = 5571 tons / day
Burnt gas = 1628 mL/day
Iraq's exports of condensate in 2021 = 139 thousand tons, with a value of $71 million
Iraq's exports of liquid gas = 456 thousand tons, with a value of 288 million dollars
Iraq's current needs of natural gas = 3083 Mqmq / day
Iraq's current need of imported gas = 40 million cubic meters / day, or 1766 cubic meters / day.
He added, "The current gas projects are as follows:
1- Nasiriyah gas investment project with a capacity of 200 cubic meters per day.
2- Halfaya field investment project with a capacity of 300 square meters per day.
3- Artawi field project in Basra Gas Company with a capacity of 400 mmqm per day.
4- The Artawi field project in the South Gas Company, with a capacity of 300 cubic meters per day.
Al-Marsoumi pointed out that "when these projects are completed within 3-4 years, it is hoped that their production will all reach 1,200 bottles per day, which will lead to achieving 80% of self-sufficiency in gas."
He continued, "If the project of the French company Total is implemented, it is hoped that 600 bottles will be invested per day, which will lead to meeting all domestic needs of gas and stop importing it from abroad."
And he added: "When Mansouriya gas is invested with a capacity of 282 cubic meters per day and reflective gas is invested with a capacity of 388 cubic meters per day,
then there will be an export surplus of 670 cubic meters per day, or 19 million cubic meters per day, and
this figure rises when investing in the Khashin Ahmar and Anjana fields in Diyala, which have been transferred to investment under the fifth round,
as well as the possibility of investing more associated gas, which will rise with the increase in Iraq's production of crude oil.
