Today, Monday, the Technical Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Mahdi Damad Al-Qaisi, stressed the need to support and protect the agricultural sector to achieve food security and create sustainable development in Iraq.
Al-Qaisi said in a statement to the "National News Center", "There is a need to start restoring agricultural plans according to the comparative advantage of the governorate or a group of governorates, depending on cli"matic changes, the lack of water revenues and the productivity of agricultural land."
And he indicated, "The private sector must be supported to enter food manufacturing and industries supporting the agricultural sector, and
the important point is to control the official outlets and irregular crossings to prevent the entry of any goods outside import controls to prevent commodity dumping (regulated import) and to allow the entry of goods with an import license that is within the specified specifications. for the agricultural product or crop.
He added that "the agricultural sector and the activities supporting it are able to employ more manpower and diversify sources of income, which will reflect on food, health, environmental and societal security.
