• Iran welcomes the withdrawal «forced» and the U.S. was strengthening military ties with Iraq

Tehran - AFP - The head of Iran's Armed Forces Chief of Staff Gen. Hassan Fayrouz Abadi on the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq, saying Tehran is ready «to strengthen its military and security» with this country.
Quoted «IRNA news agency» the official Fayrouz Abadi welcomed the separate letters addressed by the Chief of Staff of the Iraqi army Gen. Babacar Zebari, the Iraqi defense minister acting Saadoun al-Dulaimi, b «the forced withdrawal of U.S. troops and their allies from Iraq, a Muslim», stressing that he was «the result of resistance and design Iraqi people and government ».
He added, «I hope to be a humiliating failure for the United States after nine years of the occupation of Iraq as a lesson for them to not think in the attack on another country». He said Iran «ready to develop military and security cooperation with Iraq».
A delegation of the Iraqi armed forces headed by Zebari visited Iran in mid-November (November), where he signed several letters of intent between the two sides, and met a number of military officials, led by commander «Revolutionary Guards» General Mohammad Ali Jafari, commander of ground forces in the «Guard» General Mohammed Bkpor.
The United States has accused the «Revolutionary Guards» supporting and arming Iraqi militias against the U.S. presence in Iraq.
