BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Iraqiya bloc MP expected that the visit of US vice-president Joe Biden to Iraq will have good results that will contribute to solving the present crisis.
MP Mudhir al-Janabi told Aswat al-Iraq today that "the Iraqiya bloc and its leaders were under heavy pressures that obliged them to withdraw from parliament sessions.
He expected that the talks shall be clearer with Biden's presence, particularly "the main partner did not comply with the agreed principles", in reference to Premier Nouri al-Maliki.
On the return of his bloc to parliamentary sessions, he disclosed "there are no actual results on the joint talks with the National Alliance", but added that "the talks and discussions are underway".
Iraqi political arena is witnessing political and security tensions, due to the demand of the provinces to be changed to regions, including Salahuddin, Diala and Anbar provinces in protest for governmental negligence.
Added to all these demands, the arrest warrant issued against vice-premier Tariq al-Hashimi which came at a time of political conflicts between the two major blocs, the State of Law and Iraqiya bloc.
Iraqiya bloc leader Iyad Alawi suspended the participation of the bloc in the parliament in protest to "unilateral rule of premier Nouri al-Maliki".
