ARBIL / Aswat al-Iraq: The Legislature of northern Iraq's Kurdistan Region, Mahmoud Othman, has called on the Iraqi
political personalities to achieve understanding and reach positive results before holding any conference to settle the current
crisis in the country.
"The problems confronting the political arena are not among the political forces, but among a number of political personalities,"
Othman told Aswat al-Iraq news agency Sunday, stressing that "he is not optimistic towards holding any conference, that
"would come out with nothing but speeches and statements, out of which nothing would be achieved."
Othman also called for "a compromise and understanding among the political personalities, before holding any conference, along
with the achievement of an openness among all."
Noteworthy is that Iraq had witnessed a huge political crisis, in the background of charges against Vice-President and al-Iraqiya
Alliance Leader, Tareq al-Hashimy, with having been behind terrorist acts, along with a decision by Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki,
to withdraw trust from his Deputy Prime Minister, Saleh al-Mutlaq, also a leader in al-Iraqiya Alliance, led by former Prime
Minister, Iyad Allawi.
