Electricity region: foreign companies implement the pilot phase of the smart meter project

Foreign companies have begun the implementation of the pilot phase of a project for smart meter electricity consumption in the Kurdistan region of Iraq.
The spokesman for the Ministry of Electricity in the province Diyar Baban, said yesterday that "six foreign companies started to implement the pilot phase of the project the counter in the region at the present time with a special committee of the Ministry of Electricity and the government of the region."
Pointing out that "The ministry would seek to choose the best among those companies to implement the project in full after completion of the pilot phase of the project."
The smart meter, a digital device to be installed instead of the old meters that measure the amount of electricity consumed in homes and institutions, and complete the implementation of the project outweigh the Ministry of Electricity and decrease the rate of offenses for electricity in the region significantly.
