Stepped up oil futures in Asian trade on Wednesday extended sharp gains recorded in the previous session, boosted by currency and U.S. economic data better than expected from China, Germany and the United States eased concern about the demand provoked by the debt crisis in Europe.
The price of U.S. light crude for February delivery contracts for 64 cents to 35.101 dollars a barrel by 0455 GMT after closing on Tuesday on gains of more than two dollars.
