Baghdad (AIN) –The Iraqiya Slate’s MP Hussein al-Shaalan pointed out that “The meeting of his bloc on Monday evening will discuss thoroughly possibility of turning the Slate into opposition bloc in the parliament.”
MP Shaalan stated to All Iraq News Agency AIN Monday “The IS will hold a meeting on Monday evening to discuss a lot of issues, including turning the bloc into opposition bloc in parliament to observe the performance of the government.”
“If this step was taken by the IS, then the Slate will form the first opposition bloc in history of Iraq parliaments since 2003,” he assured.
The political process witnesses complicated disputes that coincided with the US troops' withdrawal especially between the Iraqiya Slate and the State of Law Coalition when the IS decided to suspend attendance of its MPs to parliament sessions to protest “marginalization and monopolization policies adopted by the Iraqi government, as well as issuing an arrest warrant against the leader within the IS and the Vice-President Tariq al-Hashimi
