Ministry of Planning: the high inflation in Iraq by slightly over last May

BAGHDAD (Iba) ..A report issued by the Ministry of Planning that the indicators of inflation in Iraq has seen a slight increase in rates during the month of May last (0.1%) compared with the month of April.
The report, prepared by Central Bureau of Statistics based on the collection of field data on the prices of goods and services components of the consumer basket of selected sample of outlets in each of Iraq's provinces was the index of consumer prices (131.1%) in the month of May 2011, recording an increase of 0.1% for the month former and by 6.6% compared with May 2010.
He said the indicators indices of consumer prices at the level of Iraq showed the following results, according to Sections:
1.Department of Food and non-alcoholic beverages: the prices of this section increased slightly during the month of May 2011 by 0.1% compared to the previous month, due to higher prices in the central region by 0.2% and in the South by 0.9%, while lower prices in the Kurdistan region increased by 1.5%, The main reason for rising prices of this section at the level of Iraq is due mainly to higher prices of fruits.Recorded Osaarhma section increased by 6.2% compared to price levels in May 2010.
2.Department of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco: prices registered in Iraq during the current month increased by 2.7% compared to the previous month, due to higher prices in the center by 4.6%, and in the south by 1%, while prices stabilized in the region of Kurdistan.The prices of this section increased by 5.9% compared to prices to the month of May 2010.
3.Department of Clothing and Footwear: prices registered in Iraq during the Alshahralhala decreased by 0.5% compared to the previous month, due to lower prices in the Kurdistan region increased by 3.0%, and in the central region by 1.5%, while prices rose in the South by 0.9%.The prices of this section increased by 2.2% compared to prices in the month of May 2010.
4.Department of Housing: Prices of this section during the Alshahralhala decreased by 0.2% compared to the previous month, due to lower prices in the Kurdistan region increased by 1.5%, and in the central region by 0.2%, while prices rose in the South by 0.2%.The prices of this section increased by 12% compared to prices to the month of May 2010, because of the high rents the houses by 9.5%, as well as the prices of wages as a result of the application of electricity pricing new, with an increase by 100%.
Subgroup of fuel (gasoline, oil and gas)
For the subgroup of fuel (gasoline, oil and gas) saw their prices during the month of May decreased by 2.1% compared to the previous month due to lower prices in the Kurdistan region by 6.1%, and in the center by 1.9%, and in the South by 0.3%.The price of this group increased by 5.7% compared to prices in the month of May 2010.
5.Section household furnishings and equipment recorded a price rise in Iraq during the current month by 0.3% compared to the previous month, due to higher prices in the center by 0.4%, and in the South by 0.9%, while prices fell the Kurdistan region by 0.2%.The prices of this section increased by 1.6% compared to prices to the month of May 2010.
6.Department of Health recorded in Iraq, oil prices increased by 2% during the current month compared to the previous month, due to higher prices in the central region by 1.3%, and in the South by 4.0%, while prices stabilized in the region of Kurdistan.The prices of this section increased by 10.5% compared to prices to the month of May 2010.
7.Department of Transport in Iraq, oil prices recorded a decline of 0.5% during the current month compared to the previous month, due to lower prices in the Kurdistan region increased by 1.2%, and in the central region by 0.3%, and in the South by 0.2%.The prices of this section decreased by 1.7% compared to prices to the month of May 2010.
8.Department Contact: prices recorded in Iraq, a drop of 0.3% during the current month compared to the previous month, due to lower prices in the central region by 0.2%, and in the South by 0.5%, while prices stabilized in the region of Kurdistan.The price of the section decreased by 7.3% compared to price levels in May 2010.
9.Department of Recreation and Culture: Iraq recorded a drop in prices during the current month by 0.3% compared to the previous month, due to lower prices in the Kurdistan region by 1.1%, and in the center by 0.2%, while prices rose in the South by 0.2%.The prices of this section decreased by 2.7% compared to prices to the month of May 2010.
10.Department of Education: the prices of this section increased slightly during the month of 0.1% compared to the previous month, due to higher prices in the Kurdistan region by 0.8% and in the South rose 0.4% while prices fell in the center by 0.1%.The prices of this section increased by 6.2% compared to prices to the month of May 2010.
11.Department of restaurants recorded a price rise in Iraq during the current month by 0.2% compared with the previous month due to higher prices in the South by 1.4% while prices stabilized in the Kurdistan region and decreased in the central region by 0.8%.The prices of this section increased by 6.5% compared to prices in the month of May 2010.
12.Department of miscellaneous goods and services recorded a price rise in Iraq during the current month by 2.3% from the previous month, rising prices in the Kurdistan region increased by 3.9% and in the central region by 1.8% and in the South by 1.9%.The prices of this section increased by 11.3% compared to prices to the month of May 2010.
13.Inflation baseline (131.5%) registering an increase (0.3%) from the previous month, a rate (6.3%) for the month of May of last year.
Second, indicators indices of consumer prices at the district level
1.Recorded prices in the Kurdistan region in the month of May 2011 compared to the previous month decrease of 1.0% resulted mainly from a decrease in the prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages by 1.5%, and the prices of clothing and footwear by 3.0%, and housing prices increased by 1.5%, and the prices of equipment, household equipment and maintenance by 0.2%, and transport prices by 1.2%, and the prices of recreation and culture increased by 1.1%.
2.In the center has maintained price levels in the month of May 2011 compared to the previous month.
3.In the south recorded prices in the month of May 2011 compared to the previous month increased by 0.7% resulting mainly from higher prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages by 0.9% and prices of alcoholic beverages and tobacco by 1.0%, and the prices of clothing and footwear by 0.9%, and housing prices increased by 0.2% , and the prices of equipment, household equipment and maintenance by 0.9% and health by 4.0%, and the prices of recreation and culture by 0.2% and education by 0.4% and restaurants 1.4%, and the prices of miscellaneous goods and services by 1.9%. For the subgroup of fuel (gasoline, oil and gas) saw their prices during the month of May decreased by 2.1% compared to the previous month due to lower prices in the Kurdistan region by 6.1%, and in the center by 1.9%, and in the South by 0.3%.The price of this group increased by 5.7% compared to prices in the month of May 2010.

7.Department of Transport in Iraq, oil prices recorded a decline of 0.5% during the current month compared to the previous month, due to lower prices in the Kurdistan region increased by 1.2%, and in the central region by 0.3%, and in the South by 0.2%.The prices of this section decreased by 1.7% compared to prices to the month of May 2010.

10.Department of Education: the prices of this section increased slightly during the month of 0.1% compared to the previous month, due to higher prices in the Kurdistan region by 0.8% and in the South rose 0.4% while prices fell in the center by 0.1%.The prices of this section increased by 6.2% compared to prices to the month of May 2010.
11.Department of restaurants recorded a price rise in Iraq during the current month by 0.2% compared with the previous month due to higher prices in the South by 1.4% while prices stabilized in the Kurdistan region and decreased in the central region by 0.8%.The prices of this section increased by 6.5% compared to prices in the month of May 2010.
12.Department of miscellaneous goods and services recorded a price rise in Iraq during the current month by 2.3% from the previous month, rising prices in the Kurdistan region increased by 3.9% and in the central region by 1.8% and in the South by 1.9%.The prices of this section increased by 11.3% compared to prices to the month of May 2010.

1.Recorded prices in the Kurdistan region in the month of May 2011 compared to the previous month decrease of 1.0% resulted mainly from a decrease in the prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages by 1.5%, and the prices of clothing and footwear by 3.0%, and housing prices increased by 1.5%, and the prices of equipment, household equipment and maintenance by 0.2%, and transport prices by 1.2%, and the prices of recreation and culture increased by 1.1%.
2.In the center has maintained price levels in the month of May 2011 compared to the previous month.
3.In the south recorded prices in the month of May 2011 compared to the previous month increased by 0.7% resulting mainly from higher prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages by 0.9% and prices of alcoholic beverages and tobacco by 1.0%, and the prices of clothing and footwear by 0.9%, and housing prices increased by 0.2% , and the prices of equipment, household equipment and maintenance by 0.9% and health by 4.0%, and the prices of recreation and culture by 0.2% and education by 0.4% and restaurants 1.4%, and the prices of miscellaneous goods and services by 1.9%.
