BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: The Chairman of Iraq's al-Ahrar (Liberals) Bloc, Bahaa al-Aaraji, has highly assessed the decision of al-Iraqiya Bloc, led by former Prime Minister, Iyad Allawi, to resume attending the Iraqi Parliament's sessions and its acceptance of its call, calling on the Bloc to end its boycott to attend the sessions of the Council of Ministers as well.
"Al-Ahrar Bloc has had an active role in convincing al-Iraqiya Bloc to cancel its decision to boycott the Parliament's sessions, especially after our meeting with its Leader, Iyad Allawi,"
Aaraji said in a statement on Monday, as was received by Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
Noteworthy is that al-Iraqiya Bloc had decided to end its boycott to attend the Parliament sessions, which had continued for 43 days, whilst its leaders were authorized to take a decision, regarding the resumption of attending the meetings of the Council of Ministers.
"Al-Iraqiya's decision to end the boycott by its Legislatures to attend the Parliament's sessions, shall have its positive impact on the activity the Parliament, because there are a lot of laws, demanding the attendance of all the Parliament's components, with "al-Iraqiya Alliance
representing a large and important components of which," Aaraji said.
The Chairman of al-Ahrar (Liberals) Parliamentary Bloc, Bahaa al-Aaraji, had conferred on Sunday with the Chairman of al-Iraqiya Alliance, Iyad Allawi, to convince him to allow his Alliance's legislatures to resume attending the Parliament's sessions.
