BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshiar Zebari declared that the Iraqi and Iranian sides made "notable progress" in demarcation of land and water borders, as reported by Mehr Iranian news agency.
In a press conference in Tehran with his Iranian counterpart Ali Akbar Salehi, he added that the discussions were "held on the principles believed by both countries, away from political wrangling."
He declared that the agreement to be signed covered mutual taxes, customs cooperation, and encouraging joint investments, in addition to economic and trade cooperation.
Salehi stated that Iraqi-Iranian technical committees were able to complete the majority of border marks in the north.
He disclosed that the first Iranian vice-president will soon visit Iraq to chair the Iranian side in the bilateral Higher Committee, who will be accompanied by a number of heads of Iranian companies.
