Baghdad (AIN) -MP Kadhem Al Shammari from the White Bloc, said that "Iraq needs to embrace the Arab summit at home and re-arrange its relations with its brothers and to take its remarkable role in the Arab region."
He said in a statement recieved by AIN Tuesday that “Iraq today is in dire need to embrace the summit on its lands under these circumstances after the US troops' withdrawal and the return of full sovereignty to the Iraqi state."
He stressed "Iraq needs to send a message to the Arab and the international communities on its ability to take part in international forums."
MP Shimmari added "For its part, the Arab states' leaders need to sit face to face, away from a distance exchanging letters and using diplomatic envoys."
He mentioned that "I think that the relationship between Iraq and the Gulf States must take another course through the Iraqi willing to have good relations with Arabic countries and re-arrange its relations with its brothers in order to take its remarkable role in the Arab region."
He clarified that ”The State of Qatar despite its historical, geographical and intellectual limited capacities but it is a small country that has leaders able to employ the possibilities of their state and development of the media to play a major role in mobilizing the Arab street."
He emphasized "Iraq is a large country with deep intellectual ,cultural and historical capabilities more than the State of Qatar, which makes it able to lead the Arab world, especially with decline of the role of a number of Arab countries." /End/
