Maliki: SLC committed to control crisis with IS, considers application Erbil agreement

Baghdad (NINA) - MP from State of Law Coalition, Abdul Salam Al Maliki said that SLC is committed to control the crisis with the Iraqiya Slate and to consider the application of the terms of Erbil agreement.
He said in a statement to NINA today that “the SLC deals positively with the President Talabani initiative and appreciates it, especially with regard to the truce and stopping the media escalation that does not serve the political process and reflected negatively on the Iraqi street," adding "the that SLC and in light of the Talabani initiative is currently considering the application of the terms of Erbil agreement."
He added "the goal of Talabani and Muqtada Al Sadr initiatives is to defuse the crisis by creating a calm atmosphere for the dialogue between the SLC and IS and to put an end to their differences through understandings on sensitive issues raised in the Iraqi arena."
Maliki made clear that "we look at things through what is going on in the Iraqi street, and what it faces of several important issues, including the evacuation of U.S. forces by the end of this year and the stance towards the extension or not of their stay in Iraq, despite the government’s announcement of its position of rejecting the stay of these forces."
