Erbil, February 20 (Rn) - A member of the Iraqi Council of Representatives for the Kurdistan Alliance bloc, said on Monday that the Finance Committee parliamentary completed all work on the draft general budget bill for the country in 2012, and to be put to a vote and approved on Thursday.
The MP said Saeed Messenger Khoshnaw told the Kurdish news agency (Rn) that "the parliamentary Finance Committee completed its work today is to prepare a report on Wednesday next, in order to be distributed to the members of the House of Representatives to inform them of the details of the budget."
Khoshnaw added, "He was expected that the delayed ratification of going forward to next week, but most lawmakers favored the completion of the budget bill, but this was decided to extend the parliamentary session and included in the agenda of the meeting on Thursday end of this week to approve."
He noted that the draft budget bill took most of the Kurdish demands into account.
The Iraqi government approved on the fifth of December / December last year, the draft budget law of 2012 which amount to 100 billion dollars (about 117 trillion Iraqi dinars) and a deficit of up to $ 13.5 billion (about 17 trillion dinars).
The Kurdish parties in the Iraqi parliament has called for increasing the budget allocated to the Commission of Article 140 of the Federal Constitution relating to the disputed areas between Arbil and Baghdad, which currently amounts to 170 billion Iraqi dinars, as well as to increase the funds for compensation to families affected by the policies of the former Iraqi regime in the region, the fact that the amount allocated to the region in this context is 51 billion dinars, which is enough to make up for about 5 thousand families only, while the number of families affected in Kurdistan, much more.
