ANBAR / Aswat al-Iraq: Strict security precautions were implemented by border forces and other military units along the Syrian border for fear of armed group's penetration, Anbar border forces disclosed today.
The source told Aswat al-Iraq that the precautions were taken to watch for weapons and food smugglers, as well as armed groups.
The precautions were made following the Syrian forces withdrawal from the border, which in turn necessitated the presence of Iraqi border units.
Ramadi, the center of Anbar province, lies 110 km west of the capital, Baghdad.
