There is apparent confusion on the release dates regarding Iraqi currency, but if we can hold to the truth of Shabibi's words, I believe we can straighten out the confusion today.
Shabibi recently said they had not decided on the design of the new currency yet. Also, they would need to go to the Parliament to get permission to print the new currency. It has also been stated many times that the new currency will be printed in 3 languages and will include Kurdistan in the newly designed bills. This new currency will not be ready for the re-valuation. They are certainly talking about the future (next year), and it has nothing to do with our expectation of seeing the lower denominations being released right before the announcement of the re-valuation.
The lower denominations have already been printed and are ready for distribution. Shabibi has said he is waiting for the go-ahead, and so are we.
