BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: The Islamic Republic of Mauritania will attend the Arab Summit due in Baghdad next month, Iraqi Higher Education Ali al-Adeeb announced today.
Minister Adeeb delivered an invitation letter to attend the Summit sent by Iraqi President Jalal Talabani.
Adeeb announced that Mauritanian President Mohammed Old Abdulaziz will attend the Summit.
President Abdulaziz stressed the importance of developing bilateral relations in all fields and the desire to open an embassy in Baghdad.
Adeeb announced Tuesday that Morocco will participate in the Summit.
His tour included Morocco, Mauritania, Algiers and Tunisia to deliver the invitation letters.
The Arab League postponed the Arab Summit, which was due in March 2011, to this year upon Iraqi request due to the situation overlapped the Arab region last year.
Deputy Arab League Secretary General Ahmed bin Hilli announced that Iraq is capable of making the Summit a success.
