EBRIL - Qatar Telecom will extend its communication services in Iraq, by investing considerably in its existing and fixed mobile networks.
The company will seek new mobile phone licenses in the country such as for third generation technology which enables faster Internet connections on phones, as reported by the Middle East North African Financial Network.
Nasser Marafih, the company's CEO, said that expansion in Iraq, as well some North African countries, will be balanced and not rapid, as with its previous projects.
The company is also considering options in Libya, whose state-owned telecom firms may become public after the revolution.
