New electricity generating units to join service in Nineveh, says Minister

Baghdad (AIN) –The Electricity Minster Kareem Aftan urged the Company which implements the project of Qairah Gas Station in Nineveh province to make sure that the new two generator units will join service at early next July.

The Ministry reported the official spokesperson of the Ministry Musab Al-Mudaris as saying in statement to All Iraq News Agency AIN "The Electricity Minster has visited the location of the Qairah Gas Station's project, and he was welcomed by the Governor Etheel Al-Nijaifi," noting that "Minister Aftan was satisfied with accomplishment rates of the project compared with what had been agreed in the contract with Turkish company which is implementing the project."

Al-Mudaris pointed out that "The Minister confirmed that the purpose of this visit is to maintain the work plan and to solve all the obstacles which might delay it."

The project of Qairah Gas Station has accomplished building six units, each one generates (125 MW) and with total generating power of (750 MW).

The company has started its work in early May 2011 and the time allocated for project completion is (18) months. \ End\
