Zebari: Advertising Baghdad will invite Assad to step down or arming the Syrian opposition

Said Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari said a "declaration of Baghdad would not include a call for the resignation of President Bashar al-Assad, the Syrian or arming the opposition and that the decisions of the Arab League to step down is not with the lion."
He said in a joint news conference with Assistant Secretary General of the Arab League, Ahmed Ben Helli, "The situation now is different in Syria because the Security Council and the United Nations entered on the line."
Zebari said that "the proposed declaration of Baghdad project cumulative and depends on the Arab initiative and there is a new initiative in this regard," noting that "the new project at hand is to re-interleave between the Arab and international initiative."
He said, "Everyone will push towards forcing the Syrian government to implement the provisions of the Arab initiative and accepted by the Government, while the Syrian refusal to part of the Syrian opposition."
He said Iraqi Foreign Minister on "the existence of good relations with the Syrian government and Iraq's position on the Syrian issue and balanced according to the national interest."
He explained that "Iraq played a key role in the development of the Arab initiative and we have got a clear position and will not Nanagad any party and our voice will be the largest after the Arab summit on the issues presented."
Zebari said that "Iraq will use its influence and its influence on the Syrian government and the opposition in any step will be provided by the Iraqi government, which will be channeled to support the Arab initiative."
