BAGHDAD, May 14 (AKnews) - The Hal (Solution) bloc which belongs to Iraqiya List stated today that the parties within the list will meet today to discuss the political developments in Iraq.
Bloc spokesman Ziad al-Thareb said: "The meeting may not come out with any positions about the current crisis."
An informed political source revealed to AKnews about the presence of "three directions within Iraqiya List to participate in the provincial elections. The first is represented by the desire of the Accord Movement, led by Allawi, to participate as a single bloc in the elections.
"The second is represented by the alliance of the bloc of Finance Minister Rafie al-Issawi with the bloc of the Parliament speaker Osama al-Nujafi, while the third one is represented by the alliance of the Hal bloc with Hiwar (Dialogue) bloc led by Saleh al-Mutlaq."
The Hal bloc revealed yesterday that 25 MPs in the list from Baghdad province demanded the leaders of the list to participate as one bloc in the upcoming provincial elections, especially in the capital Baghdad, for fear of compromising the votes of the electorate.
The provincial elections were held in Iraq in 2009 except in Kirkuk province due to the disputes between its citizens about the seats distribution mechanism in the province. The coming elections are expected to be held in January.
The political blocs, notably the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq (ISCI), the Sadrists and Iraqiya List warned about the consequences of postponing the provincial elections due to the political conflict between the blocs.
