Began the ceremony the central festival of the Iraqi press in the capital Baghdad in the presence of Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki and with the participation of official delegations, media, Arab and foreign as well as Iraqi journalists in Baghdad and the provinces and from outside Iraq.
attended the ceremony a number of ministers, officials and parliamentarians as well as the media, artists and politicians from more than 50 Arab countries and foreign .
program includes celebratory events, media, cultural and artistic workshops and professional journalism and the laws on the rights of journalists and the risks of journalistic work in the arena of dangerous work as well as laws relating to aspects of journalism and freedom of opinion.
The festival Iraqi press marks June 15 of each year the union decided to postpone the celebration this year to this day 28 June for the press day coincided with the anniversary of the death of Imam Moussa al-Kadhim, peace be upon him.
