Baghdad (NINA) – Leader of Parliament’s Ahrar bloc of the Sadrist Trend, Baha al-Araji, affirmed that, “The success of Reform Paper depends on it being accepted by Iraqiya Alliance and the Kurdish Alliance.”
In a statement to the press on Sunday, July 8, Araji said, “The Reform Committee came as a reaction to the papers presented by participants in Erbil-Najaf meetings, we still have doubts of its seriousness, though we found flexibility and acceptance by components of the National Alliance, yet we want it to be translated on the ground.”
He added, “The Committee, we participated in some of its meetings, reached a paper with too many generalizations, because they believe that the final paper must not be drawn by the National Alliance alone, it must consist of all sides, it remained open for other blocs to add to it what they see it has to be added.”
Araji pointed out that the important thing about the paper is that its resolutions are obligatory to components of the National Alliance, as well as the government with a time table to implement it.
He added that the Paper is a big project; the important thing is to have good intentions to solve the problems and adhere to the constitution without excluding others, acceptance of national partnership without monocracy.
Leader of the National Alliance, Ibrahim al-Jafari, announce that the Reform Paper has been finalized by the NA and will be presented to other blocs.
