Baghdad (AIN) –The Vice-President, Khudhir al-Khuzai assured "Iraq is eager to settle the pending issues between Iraq and Kuwait."
A presidential statement received by All Iraq News Agency (AIN) on Sunday cited "Khuzai met the Secretary General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon where they discussed the means of releasing Iraq from the Seventh Chapter of the UN's Charter"
"Khuzai assured that Iraq has done its best in this issue and we hope the Kuwaiti authorities to cooperate with us in order to settle it," the statement added.
"Khuzai assured that the efforts of settling this issue are hindered in spite of the exchanged visits between the two sides, calling Ki-moon to increase his efforts and appreciating his supporting role to Iraq in all fields," the statement added.
"For his part, Ki-moon appreciated the role of the Iraqi government in supporting the Syrian refugees, assuring that he will do his best to release Iraq from the Seventh Chapter of the UN's Charter as soon as possible," the statement concluded. /End/
