Baghdad (AIN) -The Minister of Housing and Construction, Mohamed Sahib al-Daraji, announced the distribution of (4000) residential apartments during the ceremony of the International as well as the Iraqi and Arab Residence Day."
A statement by the Ministry mentioned on Tuesday "The Ministry held the annual celebration of the International Residence Day as well as the Iraqi- Arab Residence Day with attendance of the Minister al-Daraji besides a number of officials within the MoHC."
The Minister declared during his speech at the ceremony that "The Ministry started to distribute 4000 housing flats," attributing the delay in distributing the residential units to the lack of statistics for the number of the families which are in need of residential units."
"As the part that is responsible directly for the housing sector in Iraq, the MoHC set a strategy in collaboration with the UN Program for Human Settlements to settle the housing crisis in Iraq which includes increasing the financial allocations for this sector," Daraji added.
