Najaf announces Monday as holiday

Shafaq News / Najaf provincial council announced Sunday delaying the official working hours on Monday in all departments of the province except for the security and service departments.
The media director of Najaf provincial council, Mohammed al-Khuzaie said in an interview for "Shafaq News" that "the provincial council decided Monday to be an official holiday in all departments except security and service departments."
"The holiday decision came to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Ali Bin Al Hussein, Zain al- Abidine as a large influx of pilgrims will be heading to Najaf."
Khuzaie pointed out that "the security and service departments are prepared to facilitate the pilgrims’ traffic heading to Imam Ali bin Abi Talib shrine."
An informed source in Najaf Hawza revealed on Sunday, delaying all religious lessons starting from Saturday until Monday to commemorate the day of the destruction of the Dome of al-Askary shrine in Samarra and the death of Imam Ali bin Hussein Al-Sajad.
The twenty-fifth day of Muharram month marks the death of Imam Ali bin al-Hussein bin Ali bin Abi Talib, nicknamed Zain al -Abidine al-Sajad who didn’t participated in Taff battle with his father because of his illness; he is the fourth Imam of Shiite Muslims.
