Baghdad (AIN) –A source among the sides that attended the meeting of the parliament Chairmanship and the leaders of the political blocs revealed the reasons hindered reaching agreement among the blocs over the law draft of 2013 budget.
The source stated to AIN "The meeting did not result in reaching agreement because of several disputes where the Kurdistani Alliance called to avoid reducing budget of Kurdistan Region to less than 17% and to pay the salaries of the Peshmerga from the budget of the Ministry of Defense in Federal Government in addition to allocating 4 trillion IQD as dues to the foreign firms working in KR."
"Representatives of other blocs objected the Kurdish demands and called the representatives of the State of Law Coalition to reduce the budget of KR to 13% and presenting the two percentages for a vote," the source added.
"The representatives of the Iraqiya Slate called to authorize the provinces to run the strategic projects in the provinces and to reduce the allocations of the Council of Ministers and the General Secretariat of CoMs," the source concluded.
