Nijaifi affirms to Kandil that Parliament is ready to enact laws contribute to consolidate cooperation with Egypt

Baghdad (NINA) – Speaker of Parliament, Usama al-Nijaifi, affirmed Parliament's readiness to enact laws approving agreements that would contribute toward consolidate cooperation with Egypt.
In his meeting with the visiting Egypt's Prime Minister on Monday, Mar. 4, Nijaifi praised the deep historic relation between the two countries and means to consolidate them in the service of both countries' people; he welcomed Kandil's visit to Iraq.
Nijaifi pointed out the importance of developing the relations with Egypt in all fields, mainly parliamentary and economic; expressing Parliament's readiness to enact the agreements that would contribute toward consolidating cooperation with Egypt.
Nijaifi pointed out that Iraq's Parliament is waiting with eagerness the Egyptian Parliamentary election to enable visiting Cairo in a later time; pointing out the historic role of Egypt and Iraq being two Arab pillars, expressing hope to benefit from Egyptian experience and capabilities in reconstructing Iraq's infra structure.
For his part, Kandil stressed the depth of the relations between the two countries in all fields, pointing out that his visit to Iraq represents a beginning to revitalize bilateral relations for the good of the people of both countries.
In the meeting, Kandil promised to review the mechanism of granting entrance visas to Iraqis wishing to visit Egypt, as well as facilitate the travel of Iraqis on transit in Egyptian ports; as well as the necessity to release Egyptian prisoners in Iraq, who have finished their sentences and improve the conditions of the ones remaining.
Chairman of Parliament's Foreign Relations Committee, Homam Hamoudi, and committee member, Salman al-Jumaily, attended the meeting.
