US Inspector General reveals 2 Iraqi officials, businessman involved in corruption

Baghdad (AIN) -The US Inspector General, Stuart Owen, revealed two Iraqi officials and a businessman involved in financial corruption in deals exceed $ 1, 3 billion.
A statement by Baqir al-Zubaidi, the head of the Citizen bloc reported on Thursday "Zubaidi received at his office, Owen where he listened to the latter's concerted efforts in combating corruption."
The US Inspector alluded that "There are two governmental figures and businessman are involved in corruption for deals surpassed $ 1300, 000, 000. Zubaidi's office declined to mention the names of the suspects, stressing the US IG will present his general report to the concerned authorities."
"The two sides discussed during the meeting, the political situation in Iraq and the files of the Central Bank of Iraq, the fiscal policy, and the financial corruption file," the statement concluded. /End/
