Maliki: the need to develop relations with Japan

Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki on the need to develop bilateral relations with Japan and the increasing presence of Japanese companies in Iraq.
A statement from the Office of the Prime Minister that "al-Maliki said at a meeting with the new Japanese ambassador to Iraq Masato Takaaka, that the Iraqi people maintain good relations with the Japanese people."
He called on al-Maliki to "solve all the problems that stand in the way of bilateral relations."
For his part, the Japanese ambassador reiterated his country's desire "to increase cooperation and coordination with Iraq in all fields, stressing that the presence of Japanese businessmen in Iraq continues to increase."
