Baghdad (AIN) –Independent MP, Safiya al-Siheil, expressed her concerns over the scenario of postponing the next Parliamentary Elections due to the endorsement of the elections law without amending the essence of what the Federal Court called to amend.
She stated in statement received by AIN “Lack of the adherence by the parties to the Federal Court’s resolution over the compensatory seats and the right of the biggest loser is considered as a clear violation for the constitution.”
“If the law endorsed without adhering to the Federal Court’s resolution, this will lead to rejecting the law by the court and bringing it back to the parliament for amendment and in this case the elections will be postponed,” she concluded. /End/
