Ki-moon from Erbil: Syrian refugee’s conditions are miserable

Shafaq News / UN Secretary-General Ban Ki -moon expressed on Tuesday his concern about the situation of Syrian refugees in Kurdistan Region , declaring “ strong” support
of the international organization for all fleeing people from fighting and war.
Ki-moon remarks came after touring in Kourkosk camp , which includes thousands of Syrian refugees at a news conference attended by " Shafaq News " .
Ki-moon said that his visit to the camp come to express strong support on behalf of the international community for all refugees fleeing from the hell of war and listen to the " tragedies " of those displaced .
He pointed out that the situation , which he saw in the camp is not good with the coming of winter and the bitter cold , pointing out that he had seen " a family with two children and infants living in deplorable conditions and they are not optimistic about their future ."
Ki-moon praised Kurdistan Regional Government " for receiving such a large number of refugees without regard to their nationality ."
He pointed out that the United Nations will hold two conferences to discuss the Syrian crisis , adding that Kuwait will host on Wednesday the conference of donor countries to support the refugees .
He added that Geneva conference 2 will be held next week to discuss ways to resolve the Syrian issue .
Regarding the situation in Syria , He noted that the International Organization confirm that the Syrians must solve their problems internally and end the state of war , indicating that it encourages all sides to stop the fighting and violence in order to deliver humanitarian aid to the citizens in Syria .
He pointed out that the call has been extended to the Syrian government and the opposition parties to attend the Geneva 2 , and expressed hope that Ahmed al-Jarba would accept the call and participate in the conference.
He explained that the five permanent members of the Security Council and 30 other countries will participate in the conference , hinting to the issue of Iran's participation of not having an international consensus on it , but he is personally with their participation .
Ki-moon concluded his statement that after meeting with President the Kurdistan Regional Government , Nechirvan Barzani , he will meet with the region's president , Massoud Barzani .
Ki-moon has arrived to Baghdad on Monday and held a meeting with Prime Minister , Nuri al-Maliki before arriving this morning to Erbil , capital of Kurdistan region .
