UN in Iraq celebrates World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development

BAGHDAD / obelisk: called for the United Nations in Iraq in conjunction with the Ministry of Culture, representatives of the media to join the United Nations family in Iraq to celebrate the "World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development" and attend a seminar for discussion at the May 21, 2014 includes cultural figures and Iraqi representatives of UNAMI and UNESCO to talk on the topic entitled "embrace diversity and promote cultural dialogue in Iraq."
The statement said Lamm United he mark the occasion, and in the context of the mandate of the United Nations Mission to help Iraq (UNAMI) to create an environment conducive to peaceful dialogue and inclusive of all Iraqis, and the delegation of the United Nations Organization for Education, Science and Culture UNESCO to promote cultural diversity, the complexity of the mission of the United Nations and UNESCO seminar for discussion in May 21, 2014 includes Iraqi cultural figures and representatives from UNESCO and UNAMI to talk on the subject entitled "embrace diversity and promote cultural dialogue in Iraq."
The statement said the broad concept of cultural diversity deals with all aspects relating to Iraq, which includes the protection of traditional cultural expressions and regional as well as intangible cultural heritage in the face of urbanization and globalization. Also enjoys languages, religion, educational content and means of social communication is equally as important as the main vectors of cultural diversity. It is also creativity (arts and crafts) of paramount importance in the globalized free market as well as recognition of the multiplicity of cultural identities for most people.
Hqal that the head of the United Nations Mission to help Iraq, Mr. Nikolai Mladenov, the head of the Office of the United Nations Organization for Education, Science and Culture UNESCO in Iraq, and representatives of the Ministry of Culture and other government institutions, and representatives of the country team, the United Nations and the diplomatic corps in Iraq, along with members of organizations Giralovernmah and organizations civil society will attend the ceremony.
The statement noted that the seminar will be followed by presentation of a short documentary film on the theme of dialogue among religions, as well as musical passages and folk dances.
