Iraq restores more than 15.000 stolen artifacts, says official

Baghdad (Forat)- The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, announced restoring more than 15 thousand stolen artifacts since 2003 till now, including more than 4 thousand pieces belong to the National Museum, were stolen during 2003.
A statement of Qasim Tahir al-Sudani ,the general director of relations and media department, received by Alforat News Agency on Sunday, cited "Since 2003 till Dec 2013;the ministry has managed in cooperation with the concerned authorities ,to restore (15139) stolen artifacts, and (84 962) specie which have been extracted by indiscriminate digging of archaeological sites, in addition to (4328) numbered museum pieces."/End/
